A definite highlight of Christmas for me was all the new kitchen stuff under the tree with my name on it!! Some really great stuff!! New cookbooks, measuring cups, pinch bowls and a nice shiny blue cast iron dutch oven!! I was very excited.
I also received a Yoshi Blade. I haven't seen any advertising for this knife or any other ceramic knife for that matter, so I was really curious as to what it was all about! It is supposed to be stronger and last longer than a normal kitchen knife. I gave it a go tonight and was pleased. Definitely sharper than my current knives. I also like the size - bigger than what I was using but smaller than those daunting Chef Knives. The only downfall of this knife is that it is not made for chopping. The instructional insert says in big letters "DO NOT use for chopping, only slicing". Of course, I gave it a go - but found the knife awkward and I eventually just sliced through my food rather than tapping the knife up and down.
All in all, a great haul from my loving family!! Thanks everyone. I hope you look forward to seeing as much of this great stuff put to use as I am!!
